Play Animation Part
04/27/2000

As requested by Ed on the Virtools User Group, here is a demo of how to play only a part of a given animation.

Check out the scripts to see how it's done. It's an alternative to splitting the animation in your animating tool.

Mario-style Gameplay
04/26/2000

A little prototype of Mario-style gameplay. Interesting for collision management, and things like 'jumping' or 'walking on moving platforms'.

Mostly unfinished and undocumented, but you might find a couple of interesting ideas in it...

High-polycount Truck
04/18/2000

A 50000-polygon truck. Click and drag to rotate.

Just a demo to show that Virtools can render lots of polygons if handled properly. The question is "is it worth it?" In that example, I'm confident a good graphic artist could achieve the same rendering with only 10k polygons... (nothing replaces a good artist :)

Bluescreen FX
04/17/2000

An experiment with the 'Use Z Information' behavior, that allows to use a 3D object as a mask. This example also shows how Virtools can be used for flash-like 2D effects (although here the mask is 3D).

Roll Over FX
04/07/2000

A roll over effect on 3D objects, that could be used for creating 3D interfaces. Shows mouse management, camera techniques and deformation of 3D models

X Wing
04/07/2000

Ok, I'm a big Star Wars fan. I found this model on the web and added bits of interactivity to it. I'd like to create small Star Wars based games, but I need low-poly models. Anyone that can help, please e-mail me!

Acid Cam
04/07/2000

The one shows a funky effect using the 'Texture Render'. WARNING: it is known to crash some 3D cards that don't support that feature. Too bad, because it is REALLY worth seeing. Use at your own risk...
