These papers are comprised of lectures and essays written for pedagogical purposes. The History of the Telehone System was originally written for a class on the Evolution of Technology. The History of Human Factors is the introductory lecture given to my junior class and discusses the agenda of the human factors world. The Marshal McLuhan essay discusses some of McLuhan's theories on the power of media in contemporary society. Ethics and Technology was written for a class of the same title where ethical dilemmas were discussed through the appropriation of a philosopher's theories. My philosopher was McLuhan, of course, and here I discuss his take on the issue of privacy and control. From the Enlightenment to the Industrial Revolution is a lecture that traces roots of the History of Design, while the History of Materials is a timeline that I wrote for ID Magazine, my first published article, as clumsy as it may be.
